The Spiritual Journey: Significant Event #4 – Death

Death is where past experience meets promised future, and can create anguish, uncertainty and confusion in the life of a believer on theheadstones in the snow Spiritual Journey. Death, although distressing, becomes the medium for change from how things once worked to how they will work. As the work of the Holy Spirit progresses, each step the believer takes becomes a question of ‘my will or Thy will’. As the believer has surrendered their former self-value, self-worth, self-importance and self-identity, anything remaining in the will is challenged. The complete surrender of ‘my will’ to ‘Thy will’ is unfamiliar ground but is the foundation of the partnership He desires us to join. This is where the Christ-like transformation begins. The bridge crossing over from past to future requires the believer to diligently ask, wait and listen. The light will eventually dawn, and the believer will see that love is the identity and peace is the environment.
