The Sound Of Silence

The Sound Of Silence

There was a famous song in 1965 called ‘The Sound of Silence’. One of the artists summed up the song’s meaning as “the inability of people to communicate with each other, not particularly internationally but especially emotionally, so what you see around you are people unable to love each other.”

In the spiritual world, silence is found during the times when the heart is being tested. During the silence, the ear of the believer is also beingwoman looking out onto an expanse of a field trained to listen to the voice of the Spirit. Listen to the quiet when long periods of silence occur. Listen during the times of rest and listen during times of waiting. Never quit and never get tired of listening for what the Spirit is saying, even when the sound of silence is the only thing heard.

Believers must continually endeavor to listen only to the voice of the Spirit in order to move forward through the Spiritual Journey. In today’s busy and noisy world, it is easy to get distracted and listen to anything that has a sound. This may cause confusion, so continue to ask God for clarification and wait for counsel.
